Andre Greipel Discovers Tour Of Turkey

The German sprinter, 40 wins in 3 years, the chances of defending his team's HTC-Columbia April 11 to 18.

For the first time the U.S. team HTC-Columbia, ranking third in the World in 2009 and with over 150 wins the last two years, will compete in the 2010 Presidential Tour of Turkey (11-18 April) with great ambitions.

"Whenever we participate in a competition, says his team manager Alan Peiper, we desire to win. We have never competed in the Tour of Turkey but I know from all my colleagues, it is a very well organized and ideal for preparing the Ardennes classics and the Tour of Italy. Alan Peiper consider the tradition of the Tour of Turkey since 2008 to favor sprinters and he has asked Germany's Andre Greipel to defend the chances of the team HTC-Columbia. Fifth stage win for Greipel, first stage race overall win for Visconti

Giovanni Visconti will bring back the first “Turquoise maillot” to Italy as the colour of the leader’s jersey has changed from yellow to the mythical colour of Turkish birthstone this year. This is the first stage race overall win for the 27 year old but the 46th Presidential Tour of Turkey will also be remembered for the five stage wins of the great German sprinter Andre Greipel from the world’s best team HTC-Columbia who scored again in the town of Alanya at the end of the eight days “Tur”.
